The Twin Cities Home Guide
However you're moving, here's exactly how it works here, with none of the jargon. Pick your path.
Buying a home in the Twin Cities isn't complicated once you know the order of operations. Here are the six steps, and where a good agent saves you money and stress at each one.
Get pre-approved
Talk to a lender before you shop. A pre-approval tells you your real budget, shows sellers you're serious, and in a competitive market it's the difference between an offer that gets read and one that gets skipped. I can connect you with local lenders I trust.
Define your search
We'll get specific: budget, neighborhoods, commute, schools, must-haves versus nice-to-haves. I'll set up a live search so new listings that fit hit your inbox the moment they post to NorthstarMLS.
Tour homes
We see the ones worth seeing. I'll point out what matters long term, layout, light, deferred maintenance, resale, and steer you away from expensive mistakes hiding behind fresh paint.
Make an offer
When you find it, we move. I'll walk you through price, contingencies, and terms, pull comparable sales so the number is grounded, and negotiate hard on your behalf.
Inspection and appraisal
Under contract, we verify. A licensed inspector checks the home's condition and the lender orders an appraisal. If something turns up, we renegotiate, ask for repairs, or walk. Your call, with my advice.
Close
Final walkthrough, sign, and get your keys. Closings in Minnesota typically land about 30 to 45 days after your offer is accepted. I'm with you through the last signature.
Ready when you are
Start with a conversation. Tell me where you are and I'll map the path from here.
